I am directing a Study Abroad program for American college students here in Prague. I like to take small groups out for a nice dinner and have them sample Czech cuisine. Over the past few weeks, I've been to a number of restaurants, all of them wonderful, but Czech Slovak is something special. The food is excellent, naturally, but what sets it apart is the extremely friendly service and atmosphere. (It is a small, family-run affair.) Our waiter was accommodating and helpful, explaining each dish and wine pairing (in very good English, I might add). And at the end of the meal, we were offered an excellent plum brandy, gratis! The kind of place you'll want to return to again and again.
